Wuhu Yangtze River Highway No.2 Bridge and its connection is the cross-river passage of Xuzhou-Fuzhou Expressway in the national expressway network, and it is also an important passage of Anhui eastward development strategy.The project starts from Wuwei County, Wuhu City, and ends in Fanchang County. The total length of the route is about 55.5 kilometers.Among them, the main approach bridge across the river is 13.928 kilometers long, 1,622 meters long and 262 meters high. It is a cable-stayed bridge with double-leg column tower separated steel box girder floating system.The project was completed and opened to traffic on December 30, 2017, with a total estimated investment of 9.039 billion yuan. It is the largest Yangtze River highway bridge in Anhui Province.

 

Wuhu No.2 Bridge has created several firsts in the history of cable-stayed bridge construction in China: it is the first time to apply the same rotary cable anchorage technology on a long-span bridge, which is the first time to apply this innovative technology on a long-span cable-stayed bridge in the world, and it has become a new milestone in the history of cable-stayed bridge construction.The first double-split column tower on the Yangtze River;The first super-large span cable-stayed bridge with arc bottom steel box girder;It is the first time to use symmetrical suspension technology on all beam sections, and the maximum cantilever length reaches 397 meters, setting a new record in domestic cable-stayed bridge construction.

 

During the construction, after continuous exploration and summary, the builders of Wuhu Second Bridge continuously applied advanced technical concepts such as industrial construction, fine construction and information control methods to the construction of the project. They summarized and extracted 752 technical indicators, among which 145 were higher than the standard indicators, and more than 60 new indicators were added.Among them, the second bridge main tower construction team through a lot of theoretical research and experiment validation, made the temperature of 40 fine index, innovation and optimization of 9 cooling and curing process, take the lead in introducing monitoring method based on the technology of big data, finally form the mass concrete temperature control of long-span Bridges systematic technology, implements the pillar each segment stable temperature control precision, comprehensively enhance the quality of the bridge tower.

In particular, it is worth mentioning that the construction concept of "Anhui Precision" put forward by the builders coincides with the "Quality Project" of the Ministry of Transport and enjoys a good reputation throughout the country.Now, the concept of "Anhui Precision" from the Second Bridge has been promoted in the whole province. In the continuous supplement and improvement, it shows the elegant style of "new emblem craftsman and new emblem road" in the construction of Anhui expressway.

 

As the longest span cable-stayed bridge in Anhui Province, the second Wuhu Yangtze River Highway Bridge has been completed and opened to traffic, which will further connect the north-south expressway network along the Yangtze River and effectively relieve the traffic pressure on the Wuhu Expressway and the Wuhu Yangtze River Bridge.Wuhu will also build a 137-kilometer-long expressway around the city, forming a riverside development pattern.
