Chizhou Changjiang River Highway Bridge is a key node project of G0321 Dezhou to Shangao expressway in the national expressway network, and also a key project of Jinan to Qimen expressway crossing the Yangtze River in the "Five Vertical and Nine Vertical" expressway network planning of Anhui Province.
The project started construction at the end of December 2014 and was completed and opened to traffic on August 31, 2019.The project starts from Huigong Town, Zongyang County, Tongling City, connecting the section from Hefei to Zongyang of Jiqi Expressway under construction, crosses the Yangtze River at Zuojiadun, then crosses the Qiupu River, and stops at Yinjiahui Town, Chizhou City. The project is connected with the South River Expressway (G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway) which has been opened to traffic, and is connected with the section from Chizhou to Qimen of Jiqi Expressway under construction.The total length of the project is 41.026 km, and the estimated investment is 6.02 billion yuan. The main bridge across the river is 5.825 km long, and the main navigable bridge adopts the scheme of asymmetrical double-tower cable-stayed bridge with the main span of 828 meters.The bridge across the river, the approach bridge and the connection section using two-way 6 lanes, the rest of the road for two-way 4 lanes, the design speed of 100 km/h, the whole line set Zongyang East and West Chizhou 2 toll stations.
After the completion of the project, the journey from Zongyang to Chizhou will be "direct" without detour, and the original one and a half hour journey will be shortened to half an hour.The completion and opening of the project will further improve the expressway network of our province, strengthen the ability of our province, Tongling City and Chizhou City to cross the river, which is of great significance for the implementation of the national strategy of regional integration development of the Yangtze River Delta and the promotion of coordinated economic and social development along the river.
